The 2018 John Deere Classic is right around the corner and everyone is getting ready for an exciting week of golf and giving.

On Thursday, July 5th, 2018, Good Morning Quad Cities had "Breakfast With..." the Organizers of the JDC live at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. Christina Green, Director of Food and Beverage for TPC Deere Run, told us how they prepare, what they cook for the pros, and the exciting things spectators can expect this year. Click the video above to see that interview.
A final pre-Open Championship tune-up is in order this week at the John Deere Classic where the scores are sure to be low and the tension potentially high with slots to get into The Open available late on Sunday afternoon.

The field this year is not great -- Francesco Molinari is the favorite, if that tells you anything -- but this tournament has been home to some pretty solid first-time winners over the last five years. Bryson DeChambeau, Brian Harman and Jordan Spieth all took home their first PGA Tour titles here. All three have since won again (Spieth has even won this tournament for a second time).

So this weekend could give us our first taste of what a Joaquin Niemann-dominated Tour looks like, or we could get an old faithful vet like Zach Johnson or Steve Stricker -- both of whom could have this even eventually named after them given their success here -- back in the winner's circle. Regardless, the numbers will be (very) red, and the champ will hop on a chartered flight late on Sunday evening to get to Carnoustie for the 147th Open.Four wins, 15 top-10 finishes, 97 rounds under par. That’s the combined career totals of Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker at TPC Deere Run, site of this week’s John Deere Classic.

Johnson and Stricker will have plenty of time to trade course secrets in the first two rounds this week as one of the Featured Groups along with their other playing partner, Wesley Bryan — who, incidentally, is showing a similar love for the course after his first two starts in the event.

Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau is grouped with 2016 winner Ryan Moore in a Friday Featured Group that also includes Davis Love III.

PGA TOUR LIVE will offer streaming coverage of the Featured Groups in the first two rounds starting at 8:30 a.m. ET (7:30 a.m. local), then will flip to afternoon Featured Holes coverage. On the weekend, Facebook Watch will provide coverage of selected groups determined after the previous day’s action.

Here’s a look at the four Featured Groups for the first two rounds this week at the John Deere Classic (current FedExCup rankings in parentheses).
